Energy Work
Energy Work, Reiki, Vibrational/Sound Healing are not a religion and not affiliated with any religious practice. Energy Work has no creed and one does not need to believe in anything specific in order to learn and/or to use this healing system, one just needs to be open to the healing. Therefore, to benefit from, specifically, Reiki healing, one does not need to change and/or challenge one’s religion or beliefs, or believe in Reiki.

Even though Reiki is not a religion it is not devoid of morals and integrity. It is encouraged that Reiki practitioners and those receiving Reiki treatments conduct themselves in a way that cultivate harmony and peace, with regards to their life and behavior, within themselves and with others.

One of the versions of the 5 principles:
Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not be angry.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
There is modified version on the IARP website:
Just For Today:
I release angry thoughts and feelings
I release thoughts of worry
I’m grateful for my many blessings
I practice expanding my consciousness
I’m gentle with all beings including myself
What is Reiki?
A Japanese system of healing and inner self growth created by Dr. Mikao Usui, referred to by his students Usui-Sensei. It is a form of non-invasive energy healing, which promotes one’s own body to heal itself. It is also a technique used for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing simultaneously. It helps balance one’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body and energies. It is considered in the category of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine in the USA. The pronunciation of Reiki in the western world has been adapted to the English alphabet and is commonly pronounced as “Ray-Key.”

Reiki is most commonly described as a “laying on of hands” on a client who is fully clothed while on a massage table with shoes removed. A session can either be hands-on, where an RP or an RMT applies light touch during the treatment, or hands-off, where they will hold their hands slightly above the client’s body, or a combination of both hands-on and hands-off techniques. If the client prefers one over the other, they may bring this up prior to the treatment starting. Treatment will then proceed with the Practitioner moving through specific Reiki hand positions.
Treatment is based on the concept that the Reiki Practitioner is a channel or conduit for the “Life-Force Energy,” which is found in all beings, and used to heal and restore balance. Reiki works on and with the client’s biofield (aura) and energy centers (chakras) to clear stagnant “Ki” flow, to clear blockages in the energetic field and centers, and restore balance overall.
What is Reiki Massage?
Reiki Massage incorporates both the energy healing and freeing blockages/disruptions in energy flow in one’s body from Reiki with the vigorous focus and muscle manipulation from Massage. This hybrid treatment allows for the Reiki Practitioner, who is also a Licensed Massage Therapist, to use their intuition and have more flexibility in treatment options in assisting the client’s energies and body shift from imbalance to equilibrium and restoring wellness.

The client undresses to their level of comfort. This is NOT a deep tissue massage. The type of massage pressure with Reiki is similar to a Swedish Massage, light to moderate pressure, some areas may be deep pressure (this is completely different than a deep tissue massage). This massage focuses on energy healing and restoring balance. Hot stones and Essential oils may be used during the session, with no up charge, to warm the muscles and also help with the healing process.
