Clinic Policies

At Pure Healing Journey Therapeutic Massage, it is our intention to provide our guests with professional and therapeutic services in a relaxing and friendly environment; we will tailor each treatment to our client’s individual needs. The following policies and procedures serve as a guide for our first-time and repeating guests.

Cancellation Policy

All clients are allowed 1 "oopsie," cancellation, however, NO SHOWS will be charged.  We respectfully ask that you provide us with a 48-hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellation request. Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing a 48-hour notice we are often unable to fill that appointment time. This is an inconvenience to your therapist and also means our other clients miss the chance to receive services they need. For this reason, (if you have already used your 1 excused cancellation) you will be charged 50% of the service fee. No shows will be charged 100% of the service fee. We also reserve the right to require a credit card number to be given to book appointments so that appropriate fees may be charged if a late cancellation does occur. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation, a no show, or you are a client that is required to prepay. Clients choose their method of payment & are not obligated to use the credit card on file for payment.

Also for new clients, if you accrue 3 cancellations prior to your first visit, you will be required to prepay for your sessions thereafter. Established clients, if you accrue 3 cancellations within the 48 hours policy or have consistently rescheduled, 3 days or less, your scheduled appointment (3 or more occurrences), you will be required to prepay for your sessions or a deduction from your massage package will occur, if you have purchased a massage package.

We understand that emergencies can arise and illnesses do occur at inopportune times. If you have a fever, a known infection, or have experienced vomiting or diarrhea within 24 hours prior to your appointment time, we request you cancel your session. Inclement weather may also result in need for late cancellations. We will do our best to give advanced notice if we are closing or need to cancel due to bad weather or therapist illness and we ask that you do the same. Please do not risk your own safety trying to make your appointment. Late cancellation due to emergency, illness, COVID related concerns, or inclement weather will generally not result in any missed session charges, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis, especially if there is a pattern of late cancellations with the reason being emergencies and illnesses, you may be charged.

Arrival to Your Massage

Please arrive for your appointment 10-15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. This allows you the time to fill out the appropriate client form (new clients) if you have not filled out the online forms.  This also allows for an assessment to be completed and for you to change and prepare for the service. All treatment sessions have a specific time schedule and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience.

Late Arrival

We understand that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your appointment. However, we ask that you call to inform us if this ever occurs so we can do our best to accommodate you. Appointment times are reserved for each client, so oftentimes we cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late. For this reason, arriving after your appointment time will result in loss of time from your massage so that your session ends at the scheduled time. Full service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival.

Inappropriate Behavior

Massage therapy is for relaxation and therapeutic purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage whatsoever. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation, or request otherwise will result in immediate termination of your session and refusal of any and all services in the future. You will be charged the full service fee regardless of the length of your session. Depending on the behavior exhibited we may also file a report with the local authorities if necessary. Treat your therapist with respect and dignity and you will be treated the same in return.

Informed Consent

Prior to each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. At your first visit or prior to your first visit (online form) with us you will be asked to sign the treatment consent form stating that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with the professional massage therapy policies and procedures. Clients who we have not seen for at least a year may also be asked to fill out this form.

Reservations

In order to help ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, we recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. To accommodate your desired appointment a credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee your reservation. Gift Certificates may also be used in lieu of a credit card to hold your appointment. We hold this information as part of our cancellation policies and only make necessary charges to your account on the date of your scheduled service. Details of our cancellation policy are provided above.

*Please notify your therapist of any allergies or sensitivities to aromas or ingredients when you schedule your appointment.*

Scope of Practice

Your therapist at Pure Healing Therapeutic Massage is a Wisconsin licensed professional who is held to the highest standards of the American Massage Therapy Association and Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client.

Licensed Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. Our therapist may refer you to a physician or advanced practitioner (PA-C, NP) for diagnosis or treatment. Our services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to your healthcare provider for any specific condition which requires medical treatment.

Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries

Our Massage Therapists are happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, work longer on an area or move on if you request it.

The client may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, stop massage at any time.

The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped.

Confidentiality and Conversation

We treat all client visits and conditions as confidential. As such, we will not discuss your visit with anybody outside of our staff without your express permission.

You may choose to talk not talk during the massage. Conversation will be guided by the client’s direction.

Existing and New Medical Conditions

It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken, and to provide written permission from the physician, advanced practitioner (PA-C, NP), chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that the massage may be continued.

The client must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions.  For clients who have had recent surgery, less than 6-8 weeks, must receive clearance from their surgeon prior to massage therapy.

For clients undergoing chemo and radiation therapies – Please note that we require a physician's note that states the treating physician is aware of and agrees to the desired treatment.
